- >>So you need about 4Mb of free FastRam in order to open two 1024*768 24-bit screens?
- (4mb on the CV for the frontmost screen and 4mb of fast ram for the screen in the back)
- Right?
-
- Well, the 1024*768 24 bit screen will need only about 2.4 meg of memory, just because
- it requires the 4 meg card, does not mean it uses all 4 megs.
-
- To figure out mem usage for a 256 color screen, just multiply the dimensions, so
- 1024*768 = 786432 bytes. For a 24 bit screen, triple this number, its about 2.4 meg.
-
- Of course, there may be other requirements, but the main one is only 2.4 meg, so you should
- be able to keep 3 screens of that res open with 5 megs free.
